In our first selection, we offered you its little brother. Today, it's time to give pride of place to a format that is unusual in our civets. This salomones, measuring over 19 cm, will require a little patience to smoke.

Patience, yes, but even more so, a love of fine things. Take advantage of a beautiful late winter afternoon to indulge in this marvel, which we owe to the flavour enthusiasts at Royal Cigar Company. To celebrate their 20th anniversary, they have teamed up with Gilbert de Montsalvat to create a cigar that will leave a lasting impression (and taste) on the lucky few who manage to get their hands on one of the 2,000 cigars produced.

Notes

Flavours of roasted beans and almonds fill the mouth with the first few puffs. The rich, generous smoke that emanates from this cigar brings further notes of honey. The burn is excellent and the draw is quite smooth.
Don't be fooled by the creamy, sweet start, as a few hints of black pepper will quickly emerge and enhance the tasting experience.

Gilbert de Montsalvat is a Swiss cigar brand founded by Raymondo Bernasconi, inspired by a character from Thomas Brunnschweiler’s novel *Der Papst von Genf* (The Pope of Geneva). The brand was launched on 1 April 2008, incorporating the irony and moral of the story, which emphasise the importance of trusting one’s instincts and judgement.

The cigars are manufactured in the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. The brand offers several ranges, including Classic, Revolution Style, Anniversary, Treasure, and Lounge.
