Oliva Serie V Liga Especial Double Robusto
It was in 1886 that the Oliva family first began growing tobacco. It was on the fertile and promising lands of Piñar de Río in Cuba that the first ‘cosechas’ (harvests) were brought in. Following the Cuban Revolution, the family fled to the mainland and settled in Nicaragua, where they found land well-suited to tobacco cultivation.
This Double Robusto is a flagship size in the range, which already includes the Melanio and Melanio Maduro. It is a Puro, meaning that the wrapper, binder and filler are all Nicaraguan. This one is quite distinctive and powerful. Notes of spice and roasted flavours are noticeable right from the start. This vitola seems to settle down after a few minutes, but make no mistake, it’s the cigar that calls the shots! Toast and molasses join the flavour profile to lend a more robust touch to a powerful and majestic cigar. A finish that will satisfy the most discerning connoisseurs and offer an incredible experience to novices alike.
