ADVentura The Royal Return The Chancellor

In the ADVentura saga, our two explorers, ADV and Mac Kay, have returned to the kingdom with the king’s gold and the queen’s pearls. There remained one figure at court to honour: the Chancellor. The Chancellor is the third instalment in The Royal Return series, and the first cigar in the brand’s ‘Elite Broker’ range, created in collaboration with Adrian Acosta, one of the company’s brokers, using tobacco grown by his own father.

The dark, oily Corojo wrapper covers a Sumatra binder and a Dominican filler, the exact blend of which remains a secret. The cigar almost never saw the light of day: originally scheduled for 2022, it was delayed by a fire at the Tabacalera William Ventura factory, and it was ultimately the new Mina del Rey factory that produced it. A limited edition of 2,000 boxes of 10, recognisable by its embossed silver band.

On the palate, a medium-bodied, well-balanced cigar: earthy and natural tobacco notes to start, followed by cedar, herbaceous notes and a hint of pepper that gradually builds in the final third. Draw and burn are impeccable. An afternoon cigar, best enjoyed with a non-peated whisky.
