Undercrown Shade Flying Pig

"Undercrown Shade' marks a new turning point in Drew Estate's development, as it is the first blend proposed by Willy Herrera when he joined the team in 2011.

After carefully selecting the leaves to be used for the wrapper in the plantations of Ecuador, Willy found the perfect balance for the blend of this cigar, which he wanted to be perfect for breakfast (at least, that's what we thought). With a blend of tobaccos from Sumatra, the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua, he once again demonstrated the extent of his talent.

The result is a cigar that we would describe as light, with a smooth finish and aromas that will remind you of Sunday morning brunches.

A little marvel that will brighten up your morning coffee and give you a great start to the day.

The cigar anecdote

Before working for Drew Estate, Willy Herrera was a banker. It was through his in-laws that he got his start in the cigar world, working for the factory El Titan de Bronze before catching Jonathan Drew's eye.

Undercrown

The story of Jonathan Drew and Marvin Samel begins at college. These two "frat bros" from New York, who love Nicaragua and good cigars, began their adventure in the cigar world by running a small kiosk in town.

Two years later, Jonathan moved to Esteli with a handful of dollars in his pocket and three words of Spanish. He hired a few torcedors to roll the first cigars. Meanwhile, Samel continued to run the New York shop, borrowing money from anyone who would believe in them.

It was a long and winding road until La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate opened in 2007, rolling over 90,000 cigars every day.
