Quesada Reserva Oscuro Double Corona

Blended into this cigar are tobaccos from the 1997 harvest. They bring pleasant notes of leather and earth, with a touch of liquorice for roundness.

For this new module, Quesada is keeping the same base as for the classic range, but using a beautiful broadleaf for the cape. Its fluffy surface is pleasant to the touch, and you'll find the same special texture on the ash. The filler is made from Pennsylvania and Ecuador tobaccos, to which tobacco from the 1997 harvest has been added. This famous harvest has been preserved by Manolo, who already imagined incorporating it into his future creations.

Tasting note

Notes

The first impression is made without warning. This beautiful corona quickly reveals powerful notes of leather and earth. On the first third, a hint of liquorice gives a rounder, sweeter side, while notes of black pepper make their appearance.
As usual, we started the tasting with a punch bowl, but after the first few minutes, as the cigar got hotter, its humidity increased and stifled the draw a little. This was quickly remedied with a quick twist of the guillotine and the aromas filled our palate once again. Bonus point for its remarkable construction. The ash even held out.

Pairing

For this cigar, we've chosen to combine its round, punchy side with a triple beer. The end of the world. This Trappist-style beer has a very fruity, aromatic nose with notes of citrus fruit and spices.

Momentum

Take advantage of the Indian summer to spend an afternoon on the terrace. With a cold beer, you're sure to have a great time.

The cigar anecdote

Manolo Quesada was so won over by the 1997 harvest that he carefully kept a portion of it to incorporate into his future creations. 25 years on, he continues to add it to his blends.

Quesada

Arriving in Cuba from Spain in the late 1800s, the Quesada family were initially strangers to tobacco growing. As bakers, they were one day paid a debt in tobacco, and that's how their story began.

Until 1974, their cigars were produced in Havana. This was the year they opened their first factory in the Dominican Republic.

Today, the 5th generation (Manolo, Patricia, Raquel and Esther) run the family business, which employs over 300 people.
