Chateau Diadem Conviction Toro
The cigar opens with sweet hazelnut and damp earth flavours. Over time, the cigar increases in strength and also develops peppery notes before softening again in the second half.
Today we're introducing a new brand to the Swiss cigar scene. Active for just a few years, "Chateau Diadem" invites us into its family adventure.
"Conviction" is an inspiring name. Behind its large blue and silver ring, the Ecuadorian cape smells of sunshine and spices. The first woody notes come through untreated, and will continue to do so later in the tasting.
The draw is fairly supple on this toro, so prefer a punch with a straight cut so as not to overheat the leaves, and take your time.
The generous smoke lends a deep, meditative dimension to the tasting, with hints of coffee in the aftertaste.
Tasting note
Notes
Its Dominican and Nicaraguan blend gives it a nutty, damp earthy flavour that accompanies us through the first third of the tasting. With time, the cigar gains in strength and also develops peppery notes. Towards the middle of our tasting, lighter, rounder cocoa aromas come through and soften the experience.
