Aganorsa Leaf Aniversario Maduro
Aganorsa has presented us with a 'Double Puro'. A Nicaraguan puro in the traditional sense, but also an Aganorsa puro because all the tobaccos used for this cigar come from fields grown by the family.
For its aniversario series, Aganorsa is giving us the gift of a 'Double Puro'. A Nicaraguan puro in the traditional sense, but also an Aganorsa puro because all the tobaccos used for this cigar come from fields cultivated by the Aganorsa family.
Once the paper ring is removed, a magnificent Corojo maduro cape is revealed. It has fine veins and a silky feel.
Tasting note
The cigars in the range are rolled rather tightly. A straight cut allows us to savour all the aromas. Even when the cigar is uncut, its chocolate notes awaken our senses. A lovely roundness is revealed.
Lighting up is easy. You can feel that the tobaccos have had plenty of time to age and immediately the smoke fills the air with its dense wisps.
The first aromas confirm what we guessed from the raw. A nice dose of peppery notes join the chocolate at the start and, after a few puffs, a very pleasant creamy, nutty sensation takes over. The tasting is extremely pleasant and the same notes persist for most of the cigar.
Although the aromas change little over the long term, there is a slight touch of salt, a hint of wood or leather and, in retrospect, hints of toast and honey that tickle the nostrils.
There's also a nice variation in power, going from a medium-bodied start-up to a powerful cigar after the first third.
Combustion
Here we can see the masterful work of the rollers. The draught, which might have seemed a little tight at the start, remains constantly open, allowing us to enjoy ample smoke from the beginning to the end of this privileged moment.
The ash is compact and will remain firmly attached until you reach the first ring. Once you've passed this point, you'll regain a little more draught, and that's when the cigar's full power comes into play.
Pairing
To accompany this beautiful creation, we recommend a creamy pastry. And what could be better for an Aniversario cigar than a birthday cake? For us, it will be a Saint-Honoré.
Momentum
After a brisolée and blowing out the candles on the cake, a little cigar on a cool autumn terrace.
