La Galera Connecticut Bonchero No. 4

Don't be fooled by its light wrapper, which makes it look like a mild cigar—this cigar has plenty of character!

The filler of this cigar is composed of various Dominican tobaccos. The binder of this Bonchero is made from a Dominican Piloto Cubano variety, while the wrapper comes from Ecuador and is of the Connecticut type.

Pairing

A caramel latte macchiato will add a touch of sweetness to this powerful cigar with its rather spicy aromas.

Momentum

First third:
A spicy and vibrant entry emerges, marked by the dominant presence of black pepper. The spices add a piquant and warm flavour, with subtle hints of cumin complementing this thrilling first stage.

Second third:
The transition is towards deeper aromas, evoking humus and volcanic rock. The earthy character is still present, but it is softened by the creamy texture of the Connecticut wrapper, which adds roundness to the whole. At this stage, a clean cut is recommended to prevent the spicy notes from becoming too intense, thus avoiding a shift towards overly burning flavours.

Third third:
The aromas continue to round out, now dominated by persistent earthy notes. The cigar maintains its depth, offering a balanced experience right up to the final stage.

Throughout the tasting, the smoke is full-bodied and the ash compact. The wrapper is thin and slightly fragile: handle with care.
