Laura Chavin Perfecto Contest
Launched to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the brand, around 2008, this line aims to embody an exceptional blend intended for discerning epicureans. Don’t be fooled, it is a symbolic reminder of quality and demand, not a real contest.
The Concours range by Laura Chavin symbolizes cigar refinement: a Dominican puro, complex, aromatic, listed among the brand’s best productions. This range underwent a major revival in 2019, with a qualitative relaunch, followed by a format extension in 2021.
After some financial troubles of the original brand, it was Willi Knopf who relaunched the brand, taking over the rights and launching a new “2019 edition” including reinvestment in the Concours range.
Tasting Notes
What immediately strikes us when cutting the cigar is the density of the tobacco in the cigar. Expect a rather tight draw and prefer a clean cut. This density will be confirmed throughout the tasting with a well-compact ash. Another visual aspect is the band, a quite charming decoration with its royal blue and bronze tones.
Raw, lovely chocolate aromas promise a gourmet tasting experience.
The Cigar Anecdote
The cigars of the Laura Chavin Classic Edition bring together in their blend tobaccos of exceptional quality, carefully aged for at least four to five years before being crafted.
