Following Laura Chavin’s bankruptcy in 2017, the brand was relaunched in 2019 by Willi Knopf, who reintroduced the Concours line with two sizes: Robusto and Diadema. In 2021, the range expanded with two new sizes: the Corona (43×140 mm) and the Perfecto (51×105 mm). These cigars are renowned for their aromatic balance, with woody, creamy or slightly spicy notes, and are crafted with a strong emphasis on artisanal quality.
Today, the Concours line represents a cornerstone of Laura Chavin’s renaissance, symbolising a refined and exacting approach to premium cigars.
Laura Chavin’s Concours range is not a competition in the sense of an organised contest, but an exclusive series of premium cigars intended for connoisseurs. Created in 2008 to celebrate the brand’s 10th anniversary, it embodies the excellence and finesse of Dominican puros – cigars made entirely from tobacco grown in the Dominican Republic. The name ‘Concours’ here evokes a selection of the finest cigars for the most discerning connoisseurs, with a focus on prestige rather than actual competition.
