Tres Hermanos – News from Dortmund
We had the pleasure of visiting Tres Hermanos. As always, Patrick and Philippe gave us a warm welcome, topped off with a live demonstration of their wine roller. It was a wonderful moment of camaraderie, passion and expertise! We’re delighted to announce the date of our next event: 29 May 2027, when we’ll be getting to know their latest creation.
Highlight: the Caïman
We sampled it once again — because you can’t say no to a moment of pleasure — the brand’s latest creation, the Caïman.
Patrick reveals the story behind the name. He wanted to pay homage to Cuban cigars by taking inspiration from the island’s nickname.
Why ‘El Caimán’?
Viewed on a map, its long, narrow silhouette is strikingly reminiscent of that of a crocodile or a caiman. A resemblance that has sometimes earned it the nicknames ‘El Caimán’ or ‘El Cocodrilo’.
Let’s take a closer look at the cigar’s green band: in the centre, a golden silhouette of a crocodile subtly echoes the contours of the island.
A detail rich in meaning, which elegantly recalls the Cuban inspiration behind the Caïman.
Patrick and Philippe
Patrick Assal and Philippe Dubois are deeply passionate about this brand. They share a genuine commitment to meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail. It is quite simply a love of Swiss precision combined with a passion for flavour. They will speak candidly about the challenges they have faced in crafting their cigars, as well as the success of the Tres Hermanos venture.
A cigar-related anecdote
It is worth noting that our cigars contain tobacco that has been aged for between three and six years, the leaves of which have undergone hundreds of handling steps, all carried out by hand, to preserve their freshness and quality.
