Chateau Diadem Conviction Lancero
It was a touch of madness that got our two friends from Geneva to set about building a Lancero. And what a success!
The wrapper is smooth, but with very prominent veins, which stand out in dark brown against a claro colorado wrapper. It’s a real treat for the eyes, with these two shades overlapping on the wrapper. Opt for a (very) clean cut: this lancero has a fairly compact roll, so cut it quite generously to enjoy all its flavours.

Tasting notes
The nose is quite sharp and spicy, with woody notes. This is followed by aromas reminiscent of an old oak barrel, like a pleasant Bordeaux aged in oak.
The rather pungent undertones linger throughout the tasting, lending this lancero a robust character. And let’s be clear: these aren’t peppery notes, but rather the heat of the chilli that tingles the palate.
Notes of walnut then emerge.
Pairing
Opt for wines that pair well with spicy dishes: a rosé (Roseline, Les Fils Maye) or a dry Valais Muscat (Cave Ardévaz), or even a Sauvignon Blanc (Frères Dutruy).

A cigar-related anecdote
Emily and Thierry, two cousins from Geneva, opened their own factory so that their cigars would meet the quality standards they expected.
