Caldwell Long Live The King Marquis Gordo
Far from letting him live very long, we quickly behead this great king. Behind its imposing appearance (almost as tall as Robert Caldwell himself) lies a cigar with bold and powerful aromas.
Produced in the Dominican Republic, where it draws its cape, this cigar is composed of a blend of various origins, which gives it its complexity.

Tasting notes
Its distinctive aromas in the initial notes are characteristic of Peruvian tobacco. Mild and sweet, they accompany us during the first half hour of our tasting.
We opted for a straight cut on this module. The draw is pleasant, with a slight resistance, suggesting a good concentration of tobacco. And indeed, this cigar is generous: its rollers have not skimped on the filler.
Quickly, a beautiful smoke with bluish reflections playing with the sun's rays joins us. It envelops the surrounding atmosphere with its spices, adding depth to the experience. White pepper warms the blend, offering us a second interpretation of the cigar. This time, Nicaraguan tobaccos take over. The strength gradually increases, while remaining very pleasant.
The harmony is in place. White pepper and sweetness are now complemented by a woody dimension, bringing complexity and structure to the whole.
In terms of combustion, there are no false notes. It is uniform and controlled, leaving behind compact, resistant ash. This is a good indicator of the quality of the rolling and the care taken in assembling the leaves.
As we approach the final third (approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes into the tasting), we rediscover that touch of sweetness that greeted us at the beginning of the tasting. Combined with wood and nuts, it evokes a taste of nougat.
The aromas are definitely very present. LLTK aims to be satisfying without being overpowering. A magnanimous and generous king.
Thank you, Robert… and long live The King!
