West Tampa Circle of Life Toro
EP Carrillo, via his Casa Carrillo in the Dominican Republic, was responsible for manufacturing Circle of Life. Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr. was Rick Rodriguez's mentor during his years at General Cigar Co. and is reunited with his former pupil to bring this project to life.
Tasting note
The golden, embossed crown of this superb toro is delicately unwrapped. An intense dark chocolate-coloured cape already augurs a tasting experience rich in flavour. The smoke is dense and the draw is fairly airy.
Magnificent raw chocolate aromas. This is a cigar with full flavours, a full-bodied, powerful cigar. Earthy and animal notes with a frank attack in the first third, which softens towards the middle of the cigar. It then develops a gourmet nutty flavour, with a remarkable length on the palate.
This cigar, with its complex flavour, is a pleasant reminder of the Blackened M81 in terms of depth and type of aromas.
Pairing
Clearly... An espresso Martini.
