Patoro is a Swiss brand whose founder worked for Davidoff before founding his own brand in 2001.

Patoro... A brand that Blue Smoke has been eyeing since the very beginning. We were lucky enough to pick up these cigar nuggets to delight your taste buds, following a meeting with Pablo Richard and Philip Leliuc in Dortmund. We have chosen an essential line, the P series, in a superb format.

Tasting note

Thanks to a higher proportion of younger tobacco, aged 3 to 4 years, this line offers a variety of refined, rich aromas. It begins with woody, earthy flavours, then evolves towards spicy nuances with a subtle sweetness. As the cigar is tasted, it becomes increasingly complex, offering a full-flavoured experience, rich in character and aroma.

Notes of cocoa, subtly toasted. Notes of nougatine and praline fill the palate.

Pairing

A latte macchiato to make this cigar even sweeter.

The cigar anecdote

Pablo Richard (left) grew up in Bienne. He was introduced to the world of cigars at a very early age, his grandfather being Ernst Schneider, who died in 2009 and was the boss of the Oettinger Davidoff group.



Patoro

After gaining solid experience at the House of Davidoff, Patrick Jonas Martin founded Patoro in 2001.

A subtle contraction of his first name and 'Oro' (Spanish for 'gold'), the new brand aims to be an ambassador for the richness and traditions of the Dominican terroir.

Patoro was built on an artisanal approach and great attention to detail. Patrick has always focused on small production runs of cigars made from aged tobaccos, with leaves selected for their high quality.

Small production volumes mean that the brand remains somewhat discreet for the time being, allowing Patrick and his team to offer cigars with perfect rolling properties and balanced flavours.

In 2014 Pablo Richard (the grandson of Dr. Ernst Schneider, former owner and Chairman of the Oettinger Davidoff Group) decided to leave surgery for his greatest passion - cigars - and joined the wonderful Patoro adventure.
