Oliva Serie V Liga Especial Double Robusto

The Oliva family first grew tobacco in 1886. It was on the fertile and promising land of Piñar de Rio in Cuba that the first "cosechas" (harvests) were made. With the Cuban revolution, the family fled to the mainland and settled in Nicaragua, where they found land suitable for growing tobacco.

This Double Robusto is a flagship model in the range, which has already been extended to include Melanio and Melanio Maduro. It is a Puro, which means that the cape, undercape and tripe are Nicaraguan. This one is rather racy and powerful. Notes of spice and roasting are perceptible from the outset. This vitola seems to be tamed after a few minutes, but make no mistake, the lad is calling the shots! Firing and molasses join the tasting to offer a more roborative touch to a powerful and majestic cigar. A finale that will satisfy the most discerning connoisseurs and offer an incredible experience to the most inexperienced.

Oliva

The Oliva name derives from Melanio Oliva, the grandfather of Gilberto Oliva, now considered the leader of this illustrious family. Melanio began growing tobacco in Cuba as early as 1886, a tradition devotedly continued by his son Hipolito for many years. Later, Gilberto Senior, father of the current generation and a respected figure in the world of tobacco fairs in the United States, faced the challenge of finding land as fertile as that in Cuba after the family exile. After exploring regions such as Panama, the Philippines, Honduras and Mexico, he finally discovered an exceptional terroir in Nicaragua, perfectly suited to his requirements. The cigars produced here reveal deep, earthy flavours, offering a complexity that captivates connoisseurs and leaves an irresistible desire to savour more.
