Macanudo Emissary España
Macanudo Emissary España uses a harmonious blend of tobaccos from five countries, the centrepiece of which is a Havana seed grown near the town of Riolobos in Spain. The region's rocky soil and Mediterranean climate produce a rich tobacco that is impossible to reproduce elsewhere. Grown near olive groves and fields of peppers for paprika, this tobacco is distinguished by its thick, oily leaves, shaped by hot, dry summer days and mild nights. Combined with the mineral nature of the soil, the result is a tobacco of remarkable intensity and complexity.
The Spanish Havana leaf is combined with five tobaccos from four other countries (Nicaragua, Colombia, the Dominican Republic and the United States), aged for between 5 and 10 years. This optimum ageing softens the tobaccos and brings out all their subtleties.
This is the first time we have presented a cigar containing a Spanish tripe (10 years old), which adds a special touch to this tasting.
Tasting note
The cigar is not very expressive when raw. On lighting, sweet notes fill the palate and set the tone for the entire tasting experience. The ash is beautifully white, albeit a little crumbly.
The Emissary is very flattering! The aged tobaccos in this cigar give it a charming, sweet roundness that will appeal to the strictest connoisseurs. Notes of roasted hazelnuts, chocolate and caramel make this a smooth, pleasant smoke, perfect for a mid-afternoon cigar. The draw is airy and easy.
His golden ring gives us the impression of being entrusted with a mission of the utmost importance, cigar in hand.
Pairing
A cup of coffee on a sunny terrace.
Notes
Roasted hazelnuts, caramel and sweetness make up this very flattering cigar.
