Undercrown Feral Flying Pig - Intensity mastered by Drew Estate

Liga Privada Unico Ferral Pig

The Feral Flying Pig first impresses with its stocky silhouette and thick, oily maduro wrapper. Its complex aromas and fine balance will quickly win you over.

Tasting note

On lighting, the first puffs deliver a clean attack: spicy notes dominated by black pepper and wood mingle with a cocoa sweetness in the background. The spiciness comes mainly from the USA wrapper, which makes up a large proportion of the tobacco when lit.

However, the spices soon subside, revealing hints of mocha, leather and nuts. The smoke is dense, fatty and enveloping, and the combustion is regular despite the high compaction of the module.

The second third is more balanced. The pace stabilises, the texture becomes creamier and the aromas gain in depth. The draught remains constant, offering abundant and always fluid smoke.

Once again, Drew Estate has delighted us with an extraordinary module that, contrary to what you might expect, will also suit less experienced enthusiasts who can take their time.

The cigar anecdote

Inspired by a cigar catalogue dating back to 1895, the Flying Pig features the famous pigtail cap that is emblematic of Drew Estate's expertise. This rare and distinctive cigar was instrumental in transforming the perception of Drew Estate within the industry at a crucial time in its history. The Feral Flying Pig, in particular, has become one of the most sought-after formats - a favourite with enthusiasts around the world.

Undercrown

The story of Jonathan Drew and Marvin Samel begins at college. These two "frat bros" from New York, who love Nicaragua and good cigars, began their adventure in the cigar world by running a small kiosk in town.

Two years later, Jonathan moved to Esteli with a handful of dollars in his pocket and three words of Spanish. He hired a few torcedors to roll the first cigars. Meanwhile, Samel continued to run the New York shop, borrowing money from anyone who would believe in them.

It was a long and winding road until La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate opened in 2007, rolling over 90,000 cigars every day.
