E.P. Carrillo Allegiance Wingman
A medium-bodied, complex and flavoursome cigar, Allegiance offers smokers notes of spice, nuts, sweetness and a hint of cocoa. Cigar Journal voted it Top New Cigar of the Year 2023.
Imagine: a romantic evening, a few glasses of wine. After a pleasantly restless night, you open your eyes. On a terrace in the old town, bathed in amber morning sunshine, the smell of hot coffee and scrambled eggs awakens your taste buds. Cheeks slightly rosy from the previous day's follies, the crackle of an E.P. Carrillo Allegiance plunges you into your paradoxical thoughts. Duty of allegiance, unsubdued pleasure, burning desire?
Let's forget these guilty thoughts and let ourselves be carried away by these notes of chocolate, nougatine and almonds that fill the palate with a light breeze of lust.
Allegiance is made from an 8th fermentation Sumatra wrapper from the Quevedo region of Ecuador, combined with a Nicaraguan sous-cape and tripe.
Tasting note
Notes
We enjoyed this cigar with great devotion. A very airy draw to begin with: we recommend that you puncture it first and then give it a clean cut.
With this cigar, you'll enjoy 50 shades of chocolate. A slightly creamy hot chocolate in the first third, then gradually increases in strength, developing aromas of nuts and nougatine. In the final third, a light bitterness of roasted cocoa is complemented by cedar and woody (sandalwood-type) aromas.
Pairing
A salted butter caramel and whipped cream crêpe, or simply a croissant. For us, the morning cigar that will spill over nicely into the early part of the day.
