Don Kiki Gold Label Robusto
When lit, the cigar has a woody, chocolatey start. The woody notes blend harmoniously with the chocolate flavours, creating a first impression that is both gourmand and powerful.
Don Kiki Gold Label is the last blend created by Henry (Kiki) Berger before he passed away at the age of 56. It's a colorado maduro wrapper from the Arapicaca region of Brazil, with dark veins stretched to perfection. Set with a double gold ring, it brings a lovely raw leather and chocolate flavour.
Henry did not have the opportunity to market this cigar, so it is his wife Karen to whom we owe the chance to taste this module today.
Tasting note
Notes
Primer: When lit, the cigar has a woody, chocolatey start. The woody notes blend harmoniously with the chocolate flavours, creating a first impression that is both gourmand and powerful. The richness of the aromas is immediately perceptible, testifying to the quality of the tobaccos used.
The next step: As the cigar develops, nuances of burnt wood and menthol emerge, adding intriguing complexity to the aromatic palette. These notes bring an unexpected freshness that balances the cigar's initial power.
Final: At the end, the cigar returns to its marked chocolate aromas, offering a satisfying conclusion that is consistent with first impressions. This persistence of chocolate throughout the tasting confirms the richness and depth of the blend.
Pairing
A fresh Grimbergen will bring a fruity dimension to your tasting. It goes especially well with Don Kiki, which has a round, chocolaty, woody flavour.
