Chateau Diadem Conviction Lancero
It was a bit of madness that led our two Genevan friends to launch into the creation of a Lancero. And what a success!
His cape is smooth, but with very visible veins, which are outlined in dark brown on a colorado claro cape. It's already a feast for the eyes, with these two overlapping shades on the cape. Opt for a (very) clean cut: this lancero has a fairly compact roll, so cut it generously enough to enjoy all its aromas.
Tasting note
The nose is quite spicy and piquant, with woody notes. Then you get the impression of aromas from an old oak barrel, like a pleasant Bordeaux aged in oak casks.
The rather spicy base notes linger throughout the tasting, giving this lancero a strong character. It's not the peppery aromas, but the heat of the chilli that titillates the palate.
Notes of walnut follow.
Pairing
We prefer spirits that go well with spicy food: a rosé wine (Roseline, Fils Maye) or a dry Muscat from the Valais (Cave Ardévaz), or a Sauvignon Blanc (Frères Dutruy).
