At first glance, the brilliantly coloured ring catches the eye. And there's no shortage of colour on this module.
BX3. Far from a very complicated code name, it simply states that the wrapper, binder and filler contain Brazilian tobaccos. The mata fina wrapper is bold and dark. Notched, it gives the cigar a rough appearance and a leathery, gourmand initial nose.
So much brazil in a cigar, it doesn't happen very often. And yet CAO wanted to give pride of place to this rich terroir offering full-bodied, powerful tobaccos.
Tasting note
Notes
The first third begins with notes of burnt wood and pepper, so you can already expect a powerful tasting. Over the first 25 minutes, the intensity gradually builds. Then the spiciness fades, giving way to luscious notes of melted chocolate and molasses. This new roundness is a welcome addition to the tasting experience, adding a lovely depth of flavour.
The combination of a powerful wrapper, a sub-wrapper with earthy, sweet flavours and a deep, savoury filler blending tobaccos from all over Latin America makes this robusto a must-have for cigar lovers with character.
Allow around 60 minutes to fully enjoy the rich, flavoursome finish of this robusto.

If you get the chance, now's the time to get out this bottle of amber cachaça, whose woody, rounded flavours will combine perfectly with those of BX3.
