Produced in Nicaragua, this cigar is distinguished by the use of a rare tobacco, Bragança, grown organically in the Amazon rainforest and harvested only once every three years. It is blended with tobaccos from four other countries: a wrapper from Ecuador, and leaves from Nicaragua, Colombia and the Dominican Republic for the filler.
The cape is a beautiful chocolate brown, with slight ribbing and a texture similar to tanned leather, set with a braided tobacco leaf ring. The construction is impeccable, with an even fill and reassuring firmness. Before lighting, the cold aromas reveal hints of leather, while the draught, although a little tight, announces herbaceous scents.
Because of the density of the tobacco, a torch is needed to light the cigar. Once lit, the cigar burns evenly. The first puffs offer earthy aromas and a slight cocoa bitterness. The draw is easier than expected, adding to the pleasure of the tasting experience. As the first third progresses, leather aromas dominate, accompanied by hints of spice towards the end.
