Caldwell Long Live The King Marquis Gordo
Far be it from us to let him live very long, we quickly decapitate this great king. Behind his imposing good looks (almost as tall as Robert Caldwell himself), lies a cigar with clean, powerful aromas.
Produced in the Dominican Republic, where it takes its wrapper, this cigar is composed of a blend of varied originswhich gives it all its complexity.
Tasting note
These particular aromas on the first notes are characteristic of the tobaccos of the Peru. Soft and sweetThey accompany us for the first half hour of our tasting.
We opted for a straight cut on this module. The print is pleasant, with a slight restraintThis is a cigar with a good concentration of tobacco. And indeed, this cigar is generous his rouleurs didn't skimp on the tripe.
Before long, a fine smoke bluish highlights play with the sun's rays joins us. It envelops the surrounding atmosphere in its spices, adding depth to the experience. Visit white pepper heats up the blend, giving us a second reading of the cigar. This time, the Nicaraguan tobaccos take over. The strength rises graduallyBut it's still very pleasant.
L'harmony is in place. White pepper and sweetness are now joined by a wooded dimensionbringing complexity and structure to the whole.
No false notes when it comes to combustion. It is uniform and controlled, revealing a compact and resistant ash. A good indicator of the quality of the rolling and the care taken in assembling the sheets.
As we approach the final third (around 1h15 of tasting), we rediscover that touch of sweetness that greeted us at the start of the tasting. Combined with the wood and nuts, it evokes a taste of nougat.
The flavours are definitely present. LLTK aims to be satisfying, without overwhelming us. A king magnanimous and generous.
Thank you Robert... and Long live The King!
