Bohekio Maduro Robusto gordo
The attack is frank and expressive, dominated by very present, almost creamy sandalwood, underpinned by deep toasty notes. The heart is resolutely earthy, with a hint of sulphur that adds tension and character without ever tipping over into excess. Compared to the Gordito format, the palate is rounder, fuller and more enveloping. The aromas, though powerful, appear more mellow and integrated, giving an impression of coherence and maturity. The whole wine retains its strong personality, but gains in harmony and depth.
The first nose gives an initial impression of almost gourmand sweetness, like a lightly caramelised delicacy blended with delicate vanilla. Ignition opens up a range of sensations: at first silky and light, almost caressing, a smoke that envelops the senses without being aggressive.
As the combustion progresses, this veil becomes denser and is transformed: an earthy, almost rustic character takes hold. This earthy, almost mineral character is reminiscent of a rarer and more intriguing note that some associate with a hint of sulphur, not pungent but more like an ancient mineral signature, drawing towards a volcanic or rocky soil that attracts and captivates the attention.
The smokiness evolves from soft and sweet to a more rustic and deep-rooted expression.
Pairing
A black vanilla tea will go perfectly with this cigar.
