Blackbird Cuco Criollo Corona
A very nice bird in its chocolate-coloured Brazilian plumage, with very visible veins. The leaf is taut, almost hard, and slightly dry to the touch. The ring catches the eye with its attractive bird embossing, with "Cuco" in large and "BLACKBIRD" in capitals. We selected Blackbird Cuco Criollo Corona for its atypical Brazilian, Indonesian and Dominican blend.
Uncooked, the draw is fairly resistant. The cigar is dense and well-filled. Light notes of spice and herbaceous undertones can be detected.
Lighting up is easy. The first puffs reveal a hint of cayenne pepper against a woody background. The smoke is aromatic and leaves a good woody taste on the palate. In retro-olfaction, a discreet but pleasant hint of sugar appears.
The burn is even throughout. The draw, although slightly firm, remains comfortable. The pace is slow, which suits this format perfectly.
The ash is very light-coloured and slightly fluffy, and holds in place well. It only falls about a centimetre from the ring.
The tasting evolves in a linear fashion towards more mellow aromas. The wood becomes more present, accompanied by a certain sweetness. There are also a few hints of dark chocolate in the final third.
The combustion remains stable right to the end, and the power remains pleasant, without being excessive. Expect to smoke this Blackbird Cuco Corona for around an hour.
