Alec & Bradley Gatekeeper Corona
A cigar that leaves nothing to chance. Made by Ernesto Perez Carrillo's tabacalera, its blend brings us notes of black pepper on lighting, followed by a beautiful palette of woody and gourmand aromas.
Alec & Bradley's Gatekeeper leaves nothing to chance. It starts with a striking visual. His slightly ribbed Ecuadorian cape, encircled by a beautiful ring, gives him a slightly austere look reminiscent of Da Vinci statues.
Its design was entrusted to Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, whose reputation is well established. Its construction is impeccable, a guarantee of quality and attention to detail.
Tasting note
The Nicaraguan tobaccos used for the filler already give off subtle notes of black pepper and cedar. On lighting, the woody notes quickly develop and dominate the first third of our tasting.
The second third is a little more indulgent. A gentle blend of caramel and spices mingle, adding a creamy touch to the tasting experience.
The perfect balance of spice, sweetness and wood persists through to the final third. It also gains in intensity, taking us from a lighter power to a good medium-plus towards the end of the tasting. The whole remains perfectly balanced and flavoursome.
The smoke is discreet and light. Although it leaves a pleasant aftertaste on the palate. The draw is impeccable throughout the cigar, and even in cold weather, no touch-ups are necessary.
Pairing
As the first cigar of the day, it goes wonderfully well with black tea, which can add a touch of vanilla to complement the creaminess of the cigar.
If you decide to smoke it later in the day, a glass of aged cognac will go down a treat.
