1. A humidor is worth its weight in gold!

The best way to store your cigars, especially if you collect them, is in a humidor. It's also the most expensive, with an entry price of around €250. Made of wood, Altugas or Plexiglas, in different shapes and sizes, there's something for everyone!

For the humidor, you will also need to ensure that the humidity remains constantly around 70%, either with a sponge soaked in demineralised water or by inserting humidity sachets.

When you buy a new humidor, be sure to moisten the wood several times beforehand to ensure a stable environment and avoid temperature or humidity shocks to the cigars.

2. An airtight container or Tupperware

It's one of our favourite ways of preserving food. Practical and inexpensiveIt also has the advantage of a transparent wall, so you can see the hygrometer readings at a glance, without 'disturbing' the cigar environment.

It's also a practical way of transporting cigars, whether you're visiting friends or going to the mountains with a full range.

With this solution, you need to make sure that you put enough humidity bag(s) (Boveda), depending on the number of cigars, to keep the box moist and around 70%.

3. Blue Smoke sachets

The most practical solution if you want to take 5 cigars with you is the Blue Smoke Spirit zip bag supplied with your order. Completely airtight, all you have to do is slip a humidity sachet (Boveda) inside the Blue Smoke Spirit ziplock to preserve your precious treasures.

A little more elegant than the plastic box :-), this bag can be taken to any smoking room and slipped easily into your handbag, hiking bag, glove compartment or travel bag.

4. Blue Smoke humidors

The ultimate in style? A beautiful Blue Smoke engraved humidor!

We'll give you one for every new subscription of 6 months or more. It will store around 15 cigars (toro size).

A small Boveda sachet under the lid manages the humidity for you and ensures that your precious cigars are well preserved.

What's the ideal environment for a cigar?

Humidity and temperature

Cigars are just as sensitive to extreme heat as they are to biting cold. They prefer a temperature between 18 and 22° Cand hate direct sunlight. The humidity level is essential, and should ideally be around 70%.

To check these two levels regularly, Blue Smokers recommend that you buy a hygrometer. You can slip it into your cigar box to guarantee constant temperature and humidity. You'll also find connected models that allow you to check any variations in humidity or temperature, even remotely.

To maintain constant humidity, the Boveda sachets will do the job perfectly for small quantities of cigars. If the environment is particularly dry, we recommend adding a small sponge wrung out ofdemineralised water. Be careful not to put the sponge in direct contact with the cigars, which would cause them to swell and crack.
