This philosophy is fully reflected in the tasting.

Tasting note

Made in the Dominican Republic in the family factory, the Quesada 40th brings together Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos wrapped in a magnificent cape Mexican San Andrés, The wine is dark, fat and perfectly taut. At first glance, you can make out the characteristic hints that herald a rich aromatic experience.

The wrapper protrudes slightly from the foot of the cigar, so it is advisable to light it in the mouth to take immediate advantage of the intense chocolate notes produced by this long-aged wrapper. As the draw is naturally fairly tight, a straight cut is recommended: V or cross cuts tend to compress the aromas and reduce their amplitude.

From the very first puffs, the impression is almost that of a glass of amaretto Roundness, depth and light sweetness. On the palate, the aromas quickly take hold, dominated by the dark chocolate and roasted almond, The San Andrés wrapper, known for its richness and gourmet nuances, adds a velvety texture and perfectly controlled intensity. The cigar evolves little overall, with a few spicier notes (black pepper) appearing in the final third.

Tasting becomes even more harmonious when this cigar is paired with an black tea with fruit, particularly apricot. The balance between the bitterness of the tea and the chocolatey, sweet tones of the cigar works perfectly, with each sip underlining both the depth of the blend and the delicacy of its sweet notes.

Quesada

Arriving in Cuba from Spain in the late 1800s, the Quesada family were initially strangers to tobacco growing. As bakers, they were one day paid a debt in tobacco, and that's how their story began.

Until 1974, their cigars were produced in Havana. This was the year they opened their first factory in the Dominican Republic.

Today, the 5th generation (Manolo, Patricia, Raquel and Esther) run the family business, which employs over 300 people.
