Room101 Johnny Tobacconaut Toro
The name “Johnny Tobacconaut” is a clever wink, combining tobacco (tobacco) and astronaut (astronaut). The astronaut on the ring becomes the perfect symbol of this explorer of taste, an intergalactic tobacco traveller. Matt Booth, creator of Room 101, describes him as “the astronaut who walks through the galaxy with a bag of tobacco leaves on his back”.
It's a play on words, a universe and an invitation to explore the world of taste.
Tasting note
Take-off imminent: 3... 2... 1... ignition.
When ignited, the aromatic engines fire up. White, dense, vaporous smoke billows out, like the trail of a shuttle leaving the launch pad. The first notes are creamy, drowning in walnuts and sweet almonds - this is the comfort altitude, the phase when you leave the gustatory gravity of Earth behind.
It doesn't take long for an elegant bitterness to set in, comparable to the slight turbulence when passing through the atmosphere. On the contrary, there's nothing aggressive about it: just a thrill, a perfectly controlled rise in intensity. The draw is fluid, constant, orchestrated like a mission control centre.
In orbit, the cigar reveals its stable, regular structure, without deviation - as if the capsule were settling on its axis, ready to explore aromatic space. The cigar burns cleanly, the ash is well-kept, compact like an intact lunar module after atmospheric entry.
The journey continues serenely, with no dips or sudden changes in speed. A linear but controlled cigar that chooses precision over turbulence. It's not looking for supernovas of power, but nebulae of sweetness, craters of subtle bitterness, and creamy halos of comfort.
Lunar landing. Mission successful.
A smooth return - with the memory of a clean, clear, harmonious, constant journey from the Earth to the Moon.
Pairing
Open a good comic book! This almost recreational cigar lends itself perfectly to a playful interlude.
