Blanco Liga Exclusiva de Familia Broadleaf Maduro Toro

César and David Blanco have always had their own personal preferences when it comes to the types of cigars they like to blend and smoke. César prefers the rich, creamy sweetness of the Connecticut Shadewhile David is attracted by the more robust and intense profile of the Pennsylvania Broadleaf Maduro. Proudly wearing a Pennsylvania cape, our choice fell on David's favourite, the shimmering toro.

Tasting note

The first scents are rich. An earthy, animal profile was already apparent when the cigar was unlit, and when it is lit, a vegetal side emerges. Unsurprisingly, given its format, this is a cigar that will take a good hour and a half to savour.

The diversity of spices from Nicaragua blends with the distinctive, sweet, earthy notes of American cape.

We like this cigar for its 'rustic', earthy, animal and woody notes. It could easily be compared to a Ticino Cabernet Franc or Merlot, with a frank, tannic attack that's almost a little raspy. On the palate, it feels raw, sometimes rough, but sincere and full of character.

It is distinguished by mineral notes of volcanic origin, which give it a unique character and a beautiful complexity, with a typical light smoky touch. Don't try it with punch, as this could make it pungent.

The ash is particularly remarkable, a beautiful white, and the smoke generous. The tasting continues without a hitch and the earthiness is balanced by a lovely sweetness.

A great discovery of this brand and a good hour and a half of fun for fans of large modules.

The cigar anecdote

Cesar and David Blanco have always had their own preferences when it comes to the types of cigars they like to blend and smoke. Cesar prefers the smooth, refined sweetness of the Connecticut Shade, while David prefers the more intense, robust character of the Pennsylvania Broadleaf Maduro. This line of Blanco cigars brings together the personal blends of each of them.

Blanco

The Blanco Cigar Company was founded in the United States in 1998, but the company's history and family roots in the tobacco industry go back to Cuba's westernmost province, Piñar del Río, and to their long-standing cousins, the Plasencia family, with whom they share over 80 years of history. The Plasencia family, also from Piñar del Río, are now one of the most influential families in the tobacco sector. They run all farming and manufacturing operations in Danlí, Honduras, and Estelí, Nicaragua.

Blanco Cigar Company's headquarters and North American distribution centre are located in Clearwater, Florida. The Blanco family attaches great importance to family values, and several of its members are involved in various aspects of the business.
