An exceptional cigar, rich in aroma and truly gourmet. We've chosen it for the depth and diversity of its flavours, ideal for accompanying generous dishes, especially during the festive season.

At Blue Smoke, we have a soft spot for this format, the Gran Toro: both elegant and pleasant to hold, they offer a particularly smooth print. Their size also extends the pleasure of the Robusto format.

His cape is rough and irregular, adorned with a red and white ring with subtle embossing.

Tasting note

Right from the start, notes of dried fig add a sweet, gourmet roundness. These are harmoniously balanced by spicy touches of black pepper. A creaminess then unfolds on the palate, offering a remarkable length on the palate. A real caress for the taste buds.

The print is very pleasant, although the ash is crumbly and separates quickly.

As the tasting progresses, the sweet and woody notes intensify and become more and more delicious. It's a cigar you're sure to smoke right through to the ring. On the finish, notes of roasted hazelnuts and nougatine fill the palate.

Pairing

Just imagine yourself after a New Year's feast or a hearty family meal. This Balmoral XO, with its flowing draught, will add a sweet, intense touch, perfect for sublimating the end of your meal.

If, like us, you like a good Armagnac at the end of a meal, a Darroze is the perfect accompaniment to Balmoral.

The cigar anecdote

Beneath the rich Nicaraguan Habano wrapper of Balmoral Añejo XO Nicaragua lies a Brazilian subcape made from Cuban seeds, as well as carefully aged tobaccos: Dominican Olor, Nicaraguan Estelí and Brazilian Mata Norte cut on the vine.

Balmoral

The brand, which has been around since 1895, takes its name from Balmoral Castle in Scotland, the home of Queen Victoria. It was under her reign that many of the cigar industry's key players (who are still with us today) saw the light of day. Their watchwords? Craftsmanship and respectability.

Jacques Wintermans, founder of Royal Agio Cigars, is no different. This Dutch entrepreneur is the first of four generations to bring us these beautiful vitolas.
