Patoro Brasil Gordito
It's hard to choose between all the Patoro lines, because they're so different and interesting. Today, we're taking a gentle approach to the Patoro Brasil Gordito, which promises us a beautiful moment with its dark, sober, lacquered ring.
This latest exceptional creation from Patoro owes its name to the Cubra wrapper, a hybrid of Cuban and Brazilian tobacco seeds. A powerful cigar, but oh so well-balanced. Its only fault is that the pleasure is too short-lived!
The pleasure begins with the eyes! The cape is regular, the veins visible and the cape is taut and smooth. We opted for a straight cut, revealing the intertwining leaves with their beautiful density.
Tasting note
Tasting note
What a great starter! A lovely, straightforward attack with woody, toasty notes. As the tasting progresses, the wine relaxes, revealing notes of bitter almond and a warm, spicy palette (Szechuan pepper). The final third gives way to deep, earthy notes.
The ash holds up well, the smoke is full-bodied and white, and the draw is very pleasant.
Pairing
Don't hesitate to bring along a little sweetness for this tasting. We opted for a large punnet of local strawberries. As for the drink, a ginger syrup is the perfect accompaniment to the spicy aromas. We could just as easily go for a Moscow Mule, but with ginger syrup so as not to cloud the palate with bubbles.
