Artesano Del Tobacco El Pulpo Belicoso Grande
With Pulpo, you’re in for an absolutely sprawling tasting experience. An experience that grabs hold of you, shakes you up and takes you on a journey through its many facets. A profusion of flavours and an unrelenting intensity.
The Poulpe is uncompromising: its Nicaraguan blend fully embraces its earthy, powerful notes.
It is crafted exclusively from exceptional tobaccos grown on the plantations of A.J. Fernandez. Its carefully selected Mexican San Andrés wrapper, combined with a harmoniously blended filler and a high-quality binder, offers a full-bodied smoking experience of exceptional quality.

Tasting notes
The Poulpe welcomes us with open arms, in its elegant, dark-brown, box-pressed format. The roll is dense, and the draw will be too. We’re immediately met with intense aromas of coffee grounds and burnt wood.
A thoroughly pronounced bitterness sets in quite quickly, enough to make your hair stand on end. And that’s not just a figure of speech – the hairs on your arms really do stand on end. Quite inevitably, your head will start to spin. Not in an unpleasant way, but you can expect a slightly fuzzy sensation with a fairly strong nicotine kick.
Pairing
The octopus needs to stay hydrated above all else! Make sure you have a large glass of cool water to hand, as it will draw you into a non-stop dance.
The Blue Smoker recommends pairing it with a good read, and we’ve chosen Japanese tales: Spirits and Creatures of Japan by Benjamin Lacombe.

A word from the designer
"We wanted a blend that adapts to people’s palates just as an octopus adapts to different shapes and spaces, taking on their form; we wanted a blend that every smoker would find hard to put down once lit, just like an octopus that won’t let go of its prey," said Billy and Gus Fakih, owners of Artesano Del Tobacco. “Once again, AJ Fernandez has done a remarkable job in creating the El Pulpo cigars. We couldn’t be more pleased with the final product and can’t wait for everyone to try them. As they say, ‘good things come to those who wait’, and this rings true once again with the El Pulpo cigars.”

A cigar-related anecdote
It is a blend that adapts to people’s palates just as an octopus adapts to different shapes and spaces.
