West Tampa Attic Series #1

You've probably heard about the latest ranges recently launched by West Tampa, the White & Black and the Red. Well, at Blue Smoke, we wanted to take the West Tampa experience even further to bring you a gem from the brand, the West Tampa Attic Series #1.

A real gem, this cigar is one of only 2,000 boxes ever produced. And that's exactly what the box evokes: a hidden door leading to an attic, a floor that creaks heavily, light streaming through cracks in the roof. A dark, solid wood chest, containing a few boxes produced in strict confidence.

The Attic series is a project launched by Rick Rodriguez, who is releasing this ultra-limited series with a production run of 2,000 boxes per year.

At first glance, the cigar appears rustic. Its brown San Andres (Mexico) wrapper, with a slight grey tinge, highlights the prominent veins. To the touch, the body is firm and rough.
While the main band is understated, flanked simply by the WT logo on the back and ATTIC SERIES in gold capital letters on a grey background, the foot band proudly displays a chaveta – the symbol par excellence of torcedores and their meticulous work. Its rounded shape allows the cigar wrapper leaves to be cut with a single stroke of the blade.

For the binder and filler, there is a blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos from the Esteli and Condega regions.

Tasting menu

Notes

The tasting gets off to a flying start with powerful toasted aromas reminiscent of last summer's barbecues, which already seem so far away.
A few earthy and woody notes share the aromatic palette of the first third of the cigar.

The smoke is dense, compact and floats in the crisp autumn air in large bluish wisps.
It burns evenly and compact ash forms at the base.

The tasting continues pleasantly with woody notes and a more indulgent hint of hazelnut. The purin is rich and, once you reach the end of this beautiful Toro, you'll almost want a second glass to prolong the experience. Allow yourself a good hour (70 minutes for us) to fully enjoy it.

Pairing

If it's a bit late to bring it to your next barbecue, we suggest you enjoy it with a glass of aged rum.
