Casa Turrent 1880 Colorado Perfecto

Reset your tasting counters and embark on the Mexican cigar experience.

For us, it is a unique experience because it combines aromas that are rarely found in cigar tasting. A strong salty flavour that slightly dries the mouth and instantly makes you want to come back for more.

The smoke is smooth and warm, with a reassuring quality.

Casa Turrent 1880 Colorado Perfecto

First third with salty and creamy notes. Halfway between flame-grilled and buttered popcorn. For foodies, there are hints of the Maillard reaction.

The only slight drawback is that the ash is rather crumbly. However, this is easily forgiven, as the experience of smoking this cigar is quite extraordinary.

In the final third, the cigar develops pleasant notes of smoked wood.

The 1880 series, a project dear to Alejandro, takes its name from the year Tabacalera Casa Turrent was founded, paying tribute to the family's tradition and history in the tobacco industry, which dates back more than 140 years. Each blend in this range, from the mildest to the spiciest, is composed of wrapper leaves that have been aged for at least 5 years. The filler consists of tobaccos that have been stored for 10 to 12 years, adding an extra dimension to the richness and complexity of each cigar.

This farm, located in San André, is the largest in Mexico, with an area of 350 hectares dedicated to tobacco cultivation. Renowned for years for its T-Amo and Revolution brands, the son has taken over the reins, handling blends, marketing and sales.

Father and son maintain constant dialogue and supervise the tobacco at the warehouse and factory. Their family is not only Mexico's leading tobacco producer, but also the country's largest exporter of raw tobacco. To perfect the seeds, Alberto and Alejandro benefit from the expertise of Eumelio Espino, a Cuban seed specialist. Together, they conduct research on the Turrent fields and develop a new Cuban seed variety to produce oily, velvety and fine wrappers.

Alejandro is also experimenting with fermentation using cedar-lined wooden crates, allowing the already fermented tobacco to continue to evolve in a highly tropical artificial environment. The young entrepreneur is trying out new approaches, improving his skills and supervising every stage of production.

After discontinuing production of the T-Amo and Revolution brands, Alejandro launched the new Casa Turrent 1901 line, which was very well received by critics.
