Aganorsa Leaf Anniversary Maduro

Aganorsa is giving us a gift for its anniversary series: a "Double Puro". A Nicaraguan puro in the traditional sense, but also an Aganorsa puro, as all the tobacco used for this cigar comes from fields cultivated by the Aganorsa family.

Once the paper band is removed, a magnificent Corojo maduro wrapper is revealed. Its veins are fine and its texture silky smooth.

Tasting notes

The cigars in this range are rolled rather tightly. A clean cut allows us to savour all their aromas. Even before lighting, beautiful chocolate notes awaken our senses. A lovely roundness can be detected.

It lights easily. You can tell that the tobacco has had plenty of time to age, and immediately, the smoke fills the room with its dense wisps.

The initial aromas confirm what we suspected from the raw cigar. A generous dose of peppery notes joins the chocolate on the initial draw, and after a few puffs, a very pleasant creamy and nutty sensation envelops us. The tasting experience is highly enjoyable, and the same notes will linger throughout most of the cigar.

While the aromas change little over time, there is a slight hint of salt, a touch of wood or leather, and, on the finish, toasted and honeyed notes that tickle the nostrils.

You will also enjoy a nice variation in strength, from a medium-bodied cigar when lit to a powerful cigar after the first third.

Combustion

Here we recognise the masterful work of the rollers. The draw, which may have seemed a little tight at the start, remains consistently open, allowing us to enjoy a full-bodied smoke from start to finish during this special moment.

The ash is compact and will remain firmly attached until you reach the first band. Once past this point, you will regain a little more draw, and that is when the full power of the cigar will come into play.

Pairing

To accompany this beautiful creation, we recommend a creamy pastry. And what could be better for an Aniversario cigar than a birthday cake? For us, it will be a Saint-Honoré.

Momentum

After a brisolée and blowing out the candles on the cake, a small cigar on a cool autumn terrace.
