Cavalier Genève Black II Lancero
Tasting an Elegant and Powerful Cigar
Tasting a cigar can be a rich and subtle experience, especially when it offers a perfect balance between strength and aromatic finesse. Today, we have the opportunity to savour an exceptional cigar, wrapped in a San Andrés wrapper from Mexico, with a Habano binder and Nicaraguan filler. This 17.7 cm cigar with a 38 ring gauge impressed us with its elegance and character.

Tasting notes
From the very first puffs, the cigar's power is evident, with dominant spicy notes mingling with a subtle sweetness that balances the whole. The smoke is fine, with a pleasant texture and aromas of undergrowth, hay and leather emerging throughout the first third. Lighting is easy, combustion is even, and the draw is perfect. The ash is compact and falls off in one piece, yielding under its own weight.
The second third brings an interesting change with the appearance of chocolate notes, replacing those of wood, while retaining a spicy base. The power remains present, but the smoke becomes fuller and creamier, bringing a very appreciable touch of creaminess. The evolution of the aromatic profile is harmonious. All the flavours are revealed gradually, while maintaining a pleasant consistency.
In the final third, the cigar warms slightly as it approaches the gold foil adorning the wrapper, and a refreshing sensation of peppermint emerges. The aromas of nuts and nougat add a new dimension, giving a lingering and refined finish.
Its impeccable construction, smooth draw and gradual evolution make it an ideal choice for enthusiasts looking for a powerful yet well-balanced cigar. A wonderful discovery for moments of peaceful enjoyment.
Pairing
To accompany this lancero, we recommend a smooth rum or calva, which will bring out the cigar's strength by coating it in a little sweetness.
