Valentino Siesto Nero Black Robusto

The Valentino Siesto Nero Black presents itself as a decidedly premium cigar, crafted from carefully fermented and long-aged tobaccos. Its first impression is flattering: the Ecuadorian wrapper, a deep chocolate brown, displays a matte, slightly satiny texture, regular and almost free of veins. The presentation is neat, highlighted by two black and gold bands, complemented by a golden foot band, giving the whole a luxurious and confident look.

Tasting Notes

The first third begins with a spicy attack, dominated by a measured black pepper, quickly joined by aromas of creamy wood and dry earth. A subtle sweetness, sometimes evoking cream or dried fruits, balances the whole. Light hints of dark chocolate, almond, and some floral and herbal touches enrich the aromatic profile.

In the second third, the palette gains depth and indulgence. Aromas of roasted coffee, nuts (notably walnut and almond), and toasted wood settle in durably. The smoke becomes denser, creamy and generous, while the strength remains medium, perfectly controlled. The light, compact, and very stable ash testifies to excellent construction.

The final third accentuates the main markers: strong coffee, earth, dark chocolate with elegant bitterness, with a more pronounced peppery presence that brings power and relief. Depending on the samples, this rise in intensity can translate into a slight bitterness reminiscent of black tea, making the finish drier and sharper, without breaking the overall balance.

Pairing

To accompany it, an aged rum or a non-peated single malt will harmoniously extend its aromas, while a ristretto espresso will be an equally relevant non-alcoholic alternative.
